Wax is magnificent. Applicator not included and sold separately.
This wax goes on smoothly and evenly on the skin without getting gummy. I will be buying again, for sure. Just loved how my skin felt after waxing. It has been a week since I waxed and the skin has stayed moisturized, did not peel. I realized after the fact, thought, that the product does not come with an applicator. I made it work without it -- just used the back of a wooden clothespin -- but I wish the applicator and post wax cleaner were options to add to cart. These two items are fairly inexpensive and necessary for ease of use of this product and to get good results. They are found in the product store under waxing accessories.

great if you know what you are doing
After discovering this wax, nothing could make me go back to the stuff with the strips. This is the best home wax, and I'm sticking with it. Beware though, there is a bit of a learning curve, and until you learn to use it, it may be quite awkward. I suspect that's where the negative reviews may come from. Your skin needs to be clean and perfectly dry before use. Oil and moisture will cause the wax to not stick very well. Apply a generous layer of even thickness throughout, especially at the sides. If it's applied too thin it will be impossible to pull, will flake, and leave residue. Once you pull the strip of wax, usewhat stickiness it has left to pick up residual flakes of wax. Don't pick at, or try to scrape off, residual wax, it will only irritate your skin. If a first pass didn't pick up all the hair in an area, don't get frustrated, just do a second pass. Once you get the hang of it, you'll wonder why you ever bothered with the stupid strips.

It did fine but not sure it's my go-to from now on.
ok, the jury is still out. I stopped shaving several years ago and have been getting a salon wax about 4 times a year. It's time, but the finances are having me look to other options! I tried this for the first time. It seems to have gotten the course hair from my legs although I didnt really have that much. The finer hair did not come off, so my legs are not silky smooth, but enough to get by. I also found that once I had removed the product from my legs the hair that was still there was loose and I was able to actually PULL some of it out. It went on easy, dried or hardened quickly and then removed reasonably well but I do have small amounts of wax under my nails and on parts of my legs. The product is reusable so I used one jar on one leg, finished and recaptured the product to do the 2nd leg. For some reason, the 2nd leg was messier than the first, but I am sure that was just me! All in all, not sure it will replace my salon for a good, clean waxing, but for touch ups, it did the job.

Not the Same Product it's Always Been!
Listen- As a very fair-skinned chic with very dark, thick coarse body hair - who also has a phobia of body hair, I've been using GiGi strip free wax for at least 15 years. I use it on my armpits and bikini area religiously. I used to go to a salon and get waxed, but I could afford to go as much as I would have liked. This product never got every single hair, but at least enough of it where I could shave the last little hairs and still not have 5 o'clock shadow. This batch is just really different. It doesn't ever get hard - no matter how long you leave it on to cool off/harden up. It has a consistency of a very soft taffy, which is VERY difficult to get off the skin. I tried heating it up really hot and applied it as well as barely warm where it's almost back to a solid. Same result! I don't know if this one I got is a bad batch, expired product, or if you've changed the formula, but it's not working! I'm really disappointed. This is the only microwavable wax on the market that I know of. The wax strips that are pre-waxed paper aren't strong enough for my course hair with super-roots. I guess I'll have to invest in a wax warmer & wax beads. I have avoided going that route, because GiGi has always worked so well for me. If this was the product I had always been satisfied with, easily 5 stars.

Messy, messy!
I've used wax products before so I was optimistic about being able to use this item. A strip free way to remove hair using only my microwave to warm it?! Yes please! Or, so was my first initial feeling. Let's start with some positives! -The smell is pleasant. -The quantity for the price is great in my opinion. -Not painful. I mean, you feel it. But it doesn't feel like you're ripping off all of your skin. -Barely any irritation. I have sensitive skin so I usually get irritation easily. I was happily surprised with how calm my skin was afterwards (a little redness but horrible and no sting!). Now, the not so great. -Melting. Mine took forever to melt in the microwave! I understand that could easily be my or the microwaves fault. I still became a little frustrated with how long it took. -Did not pull as many hairs out as I'd like. It got a few, but not many. I found I had to attempt to rewax some of the areas. Even that didn't get all the hairs. -CHIPPED AS I TRIED TO WAX. Meaning, some of the wax refused to leave my skin! Instead of coming off in my piece, which I was aiming for, some pieces chipped off and broke away leaving me to have to pick them off... if that makes sense. -Got everywhere! And I mean, everywhere. No matter how well I set up or careful I was, it somehow got on my floor, on the sink, and even on a towel. So far, I'm not in love. I'll give it another shot. I probably did something wrong so! I'd like to try again and hopefor better results. Will update at that time!!!

ALWAYS READY TO USE
I use it practically everyday in my beauty shop as well as on myself. No need for Muslim strip and it’s never more than 60 seconds from being ready to use.

It was my first time waxing at home and must say that apart from it being messy, it went rather well. The wax takes off hair very well. Yes you do have to get your timing right so it doesn't start cracking and yes, it's best to use baby powder or oil prior to waxing. It helps a lot! Down side is that wax goes cold quite quickly so trips to the microwave in the middle of waxing weren't great but I got a work around for it now - a cup warmer plate that heats up to 80 degrees. Would recommend the actual Gigi Brazilian microwable wax kit if it's your first time, as it comes with all the pre and post care. Overall very happy and bought this again.

I am not a hard wax fan at all! I needed something quick and easy not too expensive but a reliable name. I’ve used Gigi wax for years but never this one. I thought it looked interesting with the little handle on it. I’m really pleased with it. Super easy to heat up. Smells great. Didn’t irritate my skin and I have very sensitive skin. Great price and great product. It’s compact too so you don’t need a warmer and wax and strips etc.

Excellent wax! Removes hair well, even coarse hairs. Super easy to apply, no messy strips. All-over no mess, easy to remove. Just loving it!

It is good but IT IS BEST WITH COTTON STRIPS. without them you will have bad rewiev saying it is falling off with bits and doesnt remove most of the hair. Also remember to pull the strip oposite direction of hair growth. Also best to microwave for about 25s only if use for eyebrow or upper lip hair removal.
