The train station used on the set had another life after the film was -- Walt Disney gave the station to Disney artist Ward Kimball to install at his Southern California home. Kimball, an avid railroad buff, ran the tracks down his driveway and steamed up the train on Sunday afternoons.|The film helped Walt Disney realize there was a future in making live-action family features.|Because shooting began much later in the summer than had been planned, each night 27 "greens men" worked diligently watering the soil and s so they would look fresh for the camera in the morning.
