Miracle product and my dogs actually like it- and it works!
I have two pugs older than 5y. My oldest has rotten dragon breath and that’s being kind lol I have tried a few different products over the last year from 2 highly rated water additives (she knows it is in there and refuses to drink), to different dog toothpastes and brushes as well as finger brushes. All were like working a second job in the mines- intense. Not to mention nothing worked great. Sure in person could have forced them over time but not with it to me- she already had bad anxiety and I’m not gonna make it worse. That’s when I found the Zymox mouth gel. I was intrigued that you just put a small strip on their gums and let it work. The reviews were solid as well. I had my order delivered 01/18 and have been using it on both dogs at least every other day (sometimes more frequent) for a lake less than a month as I write this. I usually insert the tube tip into their upper cheek on both sides at the gums and do about 1/4” on each side. They both let me easily which seriously shocked me, so extra star for this gel if I could! They like the taste and actually look forward to me using this like a treat. Now here’s where I’m really impressed… They no longer have that rotten mouth smell. Is not quite puppy breath but it’s normal! I never thought I would find a product that actually works!! I’m going to continue to use this as an every other day routine. I do want to warn of one small thing though when you start using this; your dogs breath might get worse before it gets better. Her mouth was so bad the first 2 weeks of use and then it just smelled better and fresher. I think the enzymatic action is removing the build up and junk and that’s why it smelled worse and then once it was removed, the breath/mouth has a normal smell. This is truly a miracle product that saved me a vet trip and having to put the dog under sedation for a teeth cleaning which has big risk. If your dog is picky or finicky with tooth brushing, def give this gel a try.

Great for dogs who hate brushing
I love this gel because you don’t have to brush, which is perfect for dogs that are difficult about having their teeth brushed. It’s easy to use and a little goes a long way, so it lasts a long time.

Really helps with breath and bacteria!
Excellent for my senior dog’s teeth! This kills bacteria and also calms her gums.

Not spectacular but no real complaints either
I have always made a point to brush my pets' teeth ever since the poodle my family had when I was a child required expensive dental intervention after his teeth and gums were neglected. I figure it's much cheaper in the long-run and better for their health to practice a little oral hygiene everyday than to have to deal with serious issues later in their life. Currently I only own 1 cat. Since we adopted him at the age of 6 months, I've been brushing his teeth twice a day. This is only one of several kinds of oral care gels I've tried with him. This one is OK - not bad, but not as good as some others. Mostly I got it because it's a brand recommended by my vet's office, but I probably won't be purchasing it again. Again, it was all right but didn't stand out in any way. I have tried it on my own teeth, as I do with all his other dental products. While Zymox Oratene dental gel for pets doesn't have any flavor (which is good for animals), I also didn't notice that it got rid of plaque or made any huge difference in my mouth. There are other products that work better, in my personal experience. My preferred oral care products for my cat currently are Oxyfresh liquid water additive and Maxiguard oral gel. Both the above I have bought repeatedly for this particular pet and together make for a great combination that has ensured his continued excellent oral health. Should my preferred products cease to be available, I wouldn't mind switching back to Zymox. It's a good one and the company seems to know what they're doing by formulating an oral care product for pets that is free of flavors and sweeteners, is completely odorless, and doesn't contain harsh antimicrobial ingredients which kill off the good flora in their mouths.

Improves dog kisses a lot
This was recommended to me by a person that shows dogs. It works. Teeth look cleaner and my dog's breath is noticeably better. Also easy to use. I put some gel on my finger and rub it on my dog's teeth. He seems to like the taste as well.

Both Oratene toothpaste & additive reduced tarter and dog breath smells WAY better!!!
Using it as an addition to Oratene water additive. Great product. Our vet previously said my dog needed teeth cleaned but after using the water additive the vet said her teeth looked good. I hadn't mentioned the Oratene at the vet appt. Dog loves the taste of the toothpaste too

Works Better Than Expected. Saved My Cat from Having His Teeth Pulled!
My male tabby had dark red and black gums, and horrible, horrible breath. The vet said that he is basically "allergic to his own teeth" and to have all of them pulled. What the vet meant by that really was he has a reaction to the plaque on his teeth. I had to try to find a way for him to keep his teeth--he likes crunchy treats too much!--and I found this product. Within a week of daily use there was a significant improvement in his breath; the black in his gums had reduced to just the furthest back teeth area, and the deep red was lighter and just about normal pink color. I also noticed an extreme difference in his playfulness and activity level. I cannot tell you how guilty I felt realizing he was in such pain because of his gums. He hid it well, just sleeping most f the day away--now he plays, cuddles in my lap and there is just a bright look in his eyes. I did not need to brush this onto his gums at all--I just squeezed some of the gel into his mouth as close to his gums as possible. He now voluntarily licks it from the tube, as if he understands this has made him better. His bad breath is gone, his gums are pink, and he purrs constantly. And he has all of his teeth.
