After I saw your question I gave it try. I was able to adjust the size with one hand while the headphones were laying on a counter, I placed them on my head catching one ear with a few adjustments to put them in proper position and awkwardly I able to adjust controls on both sides of the unit while they were on my head. Getting them in & out of the case wasn't possible for me.

Is it not compatible with iphone X?

No it is, I am using it daily with my iPhone X, Mac, iPad etc. I also checked my wife’s Android phones works superb.

Are these actual Bluetooth headphones? It appears only cabled. I ordered a pair and they are not Bluetooth?

AKG makes different models -- the model of AKG N60NC that includes both noise cancelling and Bluetooth is usually referred to as "AKG N60NCBT", though I have seen ads that leave off the "BT" and state "wireless" instead. The way various sellers promote the product is confusing and reviews often show up that clearly are describing a different model from the one the reviews are supposed to be for. I own two of these AKG N60NCBT headphones with Bluetooth. Even the Bluetooth version includes a cable for use on airplanes or when a wired connection is preferred. High quality, comfortable, and sound great. Bluetooth setup took just a minute and works great. Easy. Very pleased.
