The tape is designed to stick only to itself and provides mechanical protection to cables, connections, and wire splices insulated with rubber electrical tape. RoHS and Prop 65 compliant, the heavy-duty cotton has low stretch and high resistance to breakage. Cotton friction tape provides extra protection from sharp edges and abrasion.
