Does this clean the black sandal stain?

Yes. The black insole stain from foot is dirt,oil,sweat.becomes black and sticky. This stuff if used with the brush in kit, will make them clean, fresh smelling and look new again. It's a great product. Cindy in Florida.

What is this stuff made of? Is there a list of chemicals?

There are no ingredients listed on any of the three containers. The two spray bottles do say the following: "This product uses a non-aerosol pump and contains no ozone-depleting chemicals". Sorry I can't help more.

I was going to order this kit but the reviews aren't great. Suggestions for a water and stain repellent for the waxy/oiled leather Birkenstock sandal?

Hi, I bought this kit as the only product currently available that I could find for sealing the cork around the shoes. I have not used it for the leather, but as a product endorsed by Birki should be OK. I use regular shoe products suitable for each type of leather on my sandals and clogs and they feed the leather really well. Mine look great after about 20 years of regular care. Caring for the cork is essential. Good luck. Pauline.

Does any of this work on the non-leather shoes? Mine are starting to smell!

Great service kit

This kit is a must have for your Birkenstocks! It doesn’t change the color of your leather and suede clogs and sandals, and cleans your footbeds adequately and quickly with the included brush. The cork sealant works great and is long lasting as well. Very effective and easy to use. Dries quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky residue. I will continue to use and repurchase.
