My son was THRILLED to get this! He said he was constantly going in and out of his home, with a bowl, to baste his meat. He said that, in Atlanta, the flying bugs are bad. So he couldn't leave. His sauce and basting brush had to be carried in. So yay for a winning gift, for a ma n who already has everything! :D (It's durable stainless steel and silicone, to boot!)

Very good quality and sturdy container. I use it to store ghee and it has truly made my life easier. The handle is strong and comfortable, and it doesn’t get hot quickly while warming oil on the stove. Sometimes the brush can hold a little extra oil, but you can easily rub it on the edge to control the quantity. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

I've had this brush & sauce pot for a couple of years. I've been filling and refilling without thinking to wash it after all this time (oh yeah, I'm embarrassed.) So imagine my shock that the oil was still clean tasting and useable! The pot/brush handle is moderately thick steel; the brush head is silicone and also moderately thick. In the presence of oil, the heavy weight of each forces a much better adherence between brush lid and container. I did, however, clean them in the dishwasher and they turned out very well. Caution: some dishwasher detergents have too much perfume which is not appropriate for flavoring food. I highly recommend Cuisinart CBP-116 Sauce Pot and Basting Brush Set!
